Customer ServiceSubscription Questions How do I subscribe to Practical Farm Ideas? Or give a gift subscription? Decide the period you wish to receive it for, and then click to put in your 'Basket', and follow through on the 'Checkout' procedure. If giving a gift, please provide full contact info for both you and the gift recipient. If you have the current or recent issue and want to get the next one, let us know which issue you want to start with. Also, if you don't mind letting us know how you heard about Practical Farm Ideas, that'd be neat too.
Will you send me a free sample issue? There's a full issue you can download which provides you with the full 48 page issue. Please use this to assess whether Farm IDEAS is for you. The costs of packing and posting free copies have to be paid out of something - and our cover price for a magazine with NO ADVERTISING is no more than those titles which sell ££thousands per issue.
Do you provide a 'Money-Back Guarantee'? We do, provided you can provide a sensible reason for requesting it. We have never had to use it.
How do I provide this information? Type in short comments on any spare line of either address. These forms are picked up by real people who transcribe the address and collect instructions. Please feel free to email me with any queries.
How much is a subscription (and what do I get)? Practical Farm Ideas has a cover price of £3.45 and an annual subscription price of £14.85, and is published four times a year, on the 8th of Feb, May, August and Nov. Our selling policy is that everyone pays the relatively small price for each year. Don't wait for discounts and offers - we don't do them. We believe the magazine is great value as it is, and plenty of subscribers tell us so.
I do not live in the UK, can I subscribe? Of course! Overseas subscriptions have a postage supplement which is clearly shown on the order form. If you use Visa or MasterCard, you will notice an exchange calculation on your credit statement. If you'd like to pay by cheque (or check!) or money order, please make it out to MIDO Publications Ltd. Euro cheques are accepted, and Euro prices are available on request. Email me at mike@farmideas.co.uk
I've received a damaged issue. What can I do? Let me know by phone or email and I'll be happy to re-send a copy to you if you ask nicely, and if we have one available. Be sure to include your complete name and mailing address!
Can I receive an electronic copy of the magazine? Or large print? We understand these two versions would be awesome, but sorry, not yet. In the meantime, please enjoy our snazzy new website and let us know how else we can be better.
How do I find my account and order numbers? You will find your customer number on your magazine's label. Your order number will be on renewal letters or subscription invoices.
I always buy my issues at W H Smith. Isn't that better than subscribing, because I'm showing the big chains that they should continue to stock the magazine? While we totally appreciate this noble urge, it's actually much better for us in the long run if you subscribe rather than buying Farm IDEAS on the newsstand. Here's why: When people buy their copy at a bookstore, we eventually (four to five months later) get around £1 of the roughly £3.45 you pay for it. When people subscribe, we get all of the money and we get it right away. Subscribing is better for you, too. Subscribers can email me for additional information, and get additional reports when they are published. Of course we'd rather have people buying it in the newsagent than not buying it at all, so we will continue to have the news trade stock the magazine, but we would never survive on the proceeds!
How do I know when to renew? Really, you can renew whenever you like. We always add the relevant peiod to your existing subscription. You won't end up with two copies if you renew early. When you receive a renewal letter, it will specify what issue your sub will expire with. It will say either Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter, followed by the year. We appreciate it if, whenever you renew, you make sure to tell us it's a renewal and not a new subscription. We check all new subscriptions against post codes, but if you say 'Renewal' that saves us time, and reduces the risk of you ending up with two subscription numbers. That can be the start of chaos!
